Fluconazole is an antifungal agent that inhibits the fungal cell membrane by blocking the triazole. It is a life-saving treatment of fungal keratitis, which is frequently a trauma from plant or soil, and offers a life-saving intervention in the eye when other antibiotics are ineffective.
